New Mexico State Employees Alliance

Department of Health

Employees of the New Mexico Department of Health constitute nearly half of the active members of SEA-CWA Local 7076. Almost 800 workers in close to 100 different locations in every county of the state have signed up as enthusiastic Union members. Hundreds more contribute to CWA and enjoy the benefits of the Union contract and the advocacy of stewards.

We are Nurses, Clerks, Nutritionists, Social Workers, Health Promotion Specialists, Epidemiologists, Phlebotomists, Computer Technicians, Counselors, Facility Maintenance Specialists, Doctors, Disease Prevention Specialists, Administrative Assistants, Chemists, Accountants, Psychiatric Technicians, Purchasing Agents, Statisticians, Financial Specialists, Data Entry Clerks, Inspectors of Clinics and Hospitals, Microbiologists, Security Guards, and more.

We are Public Servants - all New Mexicans can depend on our help if they should need it.

We are first responders. We stand firm on the frontlines to prevent epidemics and defend against bio-terrorism and threats to our food or water supplies. We are as important to the safety and well-being of our communities and our country as police, firemen, and the military.

We also make sure that your disabled child receives comprehensive care; that your aging mother is cared for by competent nursing homes; that young people have access to birth control; that community initiatives are supported by state resources; and that your baby eats well, is protected from disease and stays healthy - regardless of your income, race or place of residence.

We are ready to defend our rights as workers.
